Delivering water and wastewater services to the customers of SA Water is supported by our external partners at an annual cost of over $0.5 billion. Our centralised Procurement Team optimise supply and ensure value for money outcomes are achieved by leveraging supply chain capability and intelligence. 

About this opportunity

As part of the Procurement Leadership Team, this role’s primary focus is to deliver high quality procurement services to our IT business unit, with a core focus on category management and enabling our digital strategy. Adoption of technological capabilities, enabling future efficiency and improving delivery of services to our customers, providing insights, evaluating and negotiating contracts is critical to optimising business outcomes.

Responsibilities include

  • Developing and leading a strong team of professionals
  • Lead the delivery of world class procurement standards
  • Build and maintain trusted key stakeholder relationships across the business, extended government departments and suppliers
  • Apply commercial acumen and category management to advise the business on sourcing opportunities that support customer and strategic outcomes
  • Focus on continuous improvement, proactively identifying issues, risks, opportunities and solutions for the whole procurement function.

Success in this role will come from your 5+ years’ experience in a procurement leadership role; strong work ethic demonstrated in delivering improvements and outcomes in a highly demanding, fast paced environment; solid business acumen and communications capabilities to negotiate and deliver win-win outcomes.

Essential to this role is formal qualifications in Commerce, Economics, Management, Procurement, Information Technology, other related commercial discipline or extensive equivalent demonstrated experience in related roles.
