Lead the delivery and contract/technical information management of Wastewater construction and completion activities for Capital Delivery works, with a strong focus on effective quality assurance management. This includes implementing Delivery Requirements List (DRL) processes, leading overseeing comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) verification to ensure all constructed and commissioned assets meet required standards.

Provide coordinated leadership to ensure new and upgraded SA Water infrastructure is delivered to the required outcomes and customer service levels, while maintaining high performance across time, cost, quality, safety, environmental management, and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities for this opportunity

You will: 

  • Work closely with the Portfolio Manager, build and maintain a strong, constructive working relationship with project teams, focussed on achieving customer outcomes and enabling team members to work safely and to their full potential.
  • Effectively disseminate and communicate business performance, key corporate messages and current priorities and initiatives to influence the actions and behaviours of project teams.
  • Ensure that Capital Delivery achieves its responsibilities in accordance with WHS Roles and Responsibilities Procedure.
  • Manage the resolution of problems, disputes and non-compliances that arise during construction, commissioning, completions, and warranty periods, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Support aligned quality auditing, including participation in quality audits, HSEQ inspections and targeted verification activities to ensure contract and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and assess project construction and completions risk and opportunities and ensure necessary actions are taken.
  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships at all levels.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or relevant equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of construction and health and safety practices, standards, and quality assurance methods
  • Technical understanding of water, wastewater and recycled water treatment, disinfection and distribution system facilities, assets and infrastructure throughout the design, operations, and maintenance lifecycle
  • Ability to exercise judgement and experience to manage and resolve urgent matters and disputes during the construction and commissioning of major projects with the capacity to make decisions and communicate effectively, under limited supervision
  • Ability to use computer applications including project scheduling tools, spreadsheets, Bi-Portal, Insight, field applications for mobile working and reporting
  • ISO9001 Lead Auditor Accreditation is desirable
