      About the job  

      The Cyber Security Compliance Specialist is responsible for monitoring, reviewing and reporting on SA Water’s compliance with key cyber security obligations, including the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act, the Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), and the South Australian Cyber Security Framework (SACSF).

      Working within the Cyber Security team, the role provides specialist advice on cyber security risk, assurance and compliance across information and operational technology environments. It partners closely with technology, operational and corporate teams to ensure cyber risks are effectively identified, managed and reported, supporting the availability, integrity and confidentiality of business-critical systems and data.

      The role leads and contributes to compliance activities across the organisation, including assurance reviews, incident response support, governance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. It also supports SA Water’s response to emerging cyber threats and regulatory requirements, ensuring the organisation remains compliant and resilient in a complex and evolving threat environment.

      About the Person

      The ideal candidate will be a seasoned cyber security or risk professional with a strong background in compliance, governance and assurance within complex environments. They bring solid knowledge of cyber security risk management frameworks and regulatory obligations, along with experience supporting or leading compliance programs in critical infrastructure or regulated organisations.

      They are a strategic and analytical thinker who can translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into practical advice for stakeholders at all levels. With well-developed influencing skills, they build trusted relationships across multidisciplinary teams and confidently engage with internal and external stakeholders, including government and security agencies.

      In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

      Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

      You will: 

      • Monitor, review and report on SA Water’s cyber security compliance with key regulatory obligations, including the SOCI Act, CIRMP and the South Australian Cyber Security Framework.
      • Provide specialist cyber security and risk assurance advice across information and operational technology environments, supporting secure solution design and change activities.
      • Lead and contribute to assurance reviews, compliance assessments and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen cyber security controls and governance.
      • Support the management, reporting and regulatory response to cyber security incidents in line with SOCI obligations and internal incident response frameworks.
      • Develop high-quality reporting and insights for senior leaders, external regulators and governance forums, enabling informed oversight of cyber security risks and compliance.
      • Build strong relationships across the business and with external stakeholders, collaborating to uplift cyber security capability, awareness and regulatory maturity.

      Your success in this role will come from: 

      • Undergraduate degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
      • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities.
      • Strategic and conceptual thinker, balanced reasoning with sound decision making skills.
      • Ability to influence people at all levels internally and externally.
      • Experience developing and maintaining continuous improvement systems and compliance reporting programs.
      • Re-engineering/process improvement experience, leading and governing improvement projects is desirable.
