We employ more than 1,700 people across a broad range of disciplines who operate more than $14 billion worth of infrastructure to deliver essential water and sewerage services to more than 1.8 million South Australians.

We operate in a geographically and climatically diverse service area, with sites and locations from Ceduna through to Port Augusta, the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, across to the Riverland, down to Mount Gambier, and most places in between.

Our strength and expertise have been shaped by our history. For more than 165 years, South Australians have depended on us to innovate and deliver efficient and sustainable water services. With nationally and internationally recognised industry expertise, we’re focused on understanding and meeting our customers’ expectations.

About the job

We are seeking a Data Domain Architect who will bring unique perspectives and experiences to our team, reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve. This influential leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of data at SA Water, providing strategic guidance, maintaining enterprise data architecture frameworks, and championing best-practice use of data across the organisation.

As a Data Domain Architect, you will be instrumental in empowering teams and enabling a culture where everyone’s voice is valued. Your expertise will guide responsible stewardship of data assets, architect robust frameworks, and set standards that support both innovation and inclusion. Highly collaborative and influential, they will be adept at advising business stakeholders on best practices, maintaining high-quality artefacts and principles, and supporting the organisation through growth and operating model change. Creative and forward-thinking, they will be a true change agent who combines technical depth with strategic vision.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support projects with authoritative advice and pragmatic solutions.
  • Mentor and coach team members, building data capability and resilience.
  • Own and maintain architectural artefacts, frameworks, and principles.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and identify opportunities to deliver business outcomes.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Experience leading technology/domain strategy and architecting (including maintaining diagrams, documents and/or models for) technology/domain services including leading options analysis and technology selection.
