About the job  

As Manager Change, you will lead the strategic oversight of change programs and projects, ensuring our people successfully adopt and realise the benefits of our strategic initiatives. You will work across the organisation, partnering with senior leaders and key stakeholders to uplift change capability, improve business outcomes and position SA Water for long-term success.

You will oversee a team of Change Leads with diverse specialities, including capability, communications and transformation, and foster a high-performance culture that embraces continuous improvement and innovation. This includes mentoring and guiding the team, setting direction, allocating resources and ensuring SA Water’s change practices, methodologies and tools are fit for purpose and consistently applied.

About the Person

You are an experienced change leader with a strong track record of successfully managing large-scale organisational change programs. With a deep understanding of change methodologies and frameworks, you are a big thinker, skilled in balancing strategic priorities while driving operational excellence. Your ability to build and lead high-performing teams ensures successful delivery of change initiatives, while your expertise in stakeholder engagement allows you to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organisation.

Your leadership style is one that fosters trust, encourages innovation, and empowers others to embrace change. You have experience in change portfolio and change program management, ensuring change efforts align with strategies and business priorities and deliver measurable value. A proactive problem solver, you navigate complex challenges with a strategic mindset, leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making. Your professional experience is complemented by strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to best-practice change management, ideally supported by Agile Chg Mgt, Prosci certification (or equivalent).

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Develop and manage prioritised change management ensuring alignment with SA Water’s strategic objectives.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of change strategies for business-wide initiatives.
  • Provide expert guidance on change risk management, and workforce adoption strategies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, coaching and equipping them with change leadership skills.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to embed a culture of change leadership across the business. 

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Appropriate Change Management qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in successful implementation of complex organisational / transformational changes.
  • Professional experience in leading a team, ideally a technical practice like change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to build ongoing positive and constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • A leadership style that influences people at all stakeholder levels.
  • Experience within program and project environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen including management of operational / BAU budgets.
