About the job:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for investigating and designing infrastructure solutions, preparing estimates and overseeing construction activities to ensure they meet SA Water’s standards. You’ll manage contractor compliance; ensure project costs are controlled and contribute to service and business improvements. With a strong focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction, you’ll also help drive team success by sharing your technical expertise, solving problems, and actively improving the way we work.

About the Person:

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about delivering top-quality services across water, wastewater and recycled water systems. In this role, you’ll be hands-on with designing, estimating, auditing and making sure everything meets the highest safety and compliance standards. You’ll work closely with internal teams and contractors to keep projects on track and cost-effective, while always putting customer needs first.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing technical investigations, designs, estimates, and audits to ensure quality service delivery.
• Preparing accurate construction estimates based on Schedule of Rates for water, wastewater and recycled water connections, extensions, fire services and 3rd party alterations based on the Schedule of Rates.
• Managing contractor compliance to the Schedule of rates contract for the effective delivery of services.
• Ensuring compliance with SA Water design standards and applying the "Safety in Design" process.
• Conducting field surveys, preparing AutoCAD and ArcGIS drawings, and interpreting delivery contracts.
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer needs and ensure satisfaction.
• Actively contributing to service improvement and mentoring team members.
• Undertaking compliance activities for water, wastewater, and recycled water services.

Your success in this role will come from: 

• Technical Certificate, Diploma or equivalent qualification or relevant on the job experience is essential.
• Knowledge of SA Water network infrastructure with demonstrated skills in water and wastewater infrastructure delivery
• Knowledge of materials, fittings, equipment, construction practices and operational procedures associated with network infrastructure.
• Conducting field surveys to support the development of proposed designs and estimates or to evaluate preliminary inquiry requests.
• White Card, or willing to attend mandatory training to obtain a White Card.
• Proficiency in preparing AutoCAD and ArcGIS plans is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Current driver’s licence.
