About the person

You are a highly motivated leader with a strong commitment to safety and a collaborative approach to problem‑solving. You excel at bringing people together—teams, contractors, and stakeholders—to achieve performance outcomes and maintain service reliability. You communicate clearly and professionally, build strong relationships, and thrive in a role based locally at the workshop where you can provide hands‑on guidance and support to your team.

About Operations and Maintenance

In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Provide on-the-ground leadership to a field maintenance team, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient work practices.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Planning team to develop effective work schedules that maximise resource utilisation.
  • Review, prioritise, and assign reactive and breakdown maintenance tasks to ensure timely asset restoration.
  • Oversee the delivery of preventative maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed within required timeframes and standards.
  • Balance corrective, preventative, and capital works to optimise efficiency, minimise downtime, and manage costs.
  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee contractors operating within your area of responsibility, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and guiding teams effectively.
  • Managing positive culture and engagement within teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, complemented by well-developed negotiation and influencing skills
  • A demonstrated ability to foster and maintain a robust safety culture within your team.
