About the Company

At SA Water, our work sustains life. Every day, we deliver safe, reliable water and wastewater services to more than 1.8 million South Australians, supporting healthy communities across our state.

Behind this essential service are people who care. From engineering and science to construction, digital, operations and customer experience, every role plays a part. We bring our authentic selves to work, driven by purpose, supporting one another to deliver work that truly matters.

About the Job

This role provides leadership and technical oversight to a team of electrical tradespeople responsible for maintaining and delivering electrical infrastructure across water and wastewater assets. Based at the South Para Workshop, the Electrical Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring assets are maintained safely and effectively, with works delivered across the Barossa, Fleurieu Peninsula, and Kangaroo Island regions of South Australia. The position is accountable for driving team performance, upholding regulatory and safety standards, and ensuring works are completed to meet service delivery and customer expectations.

About the person

You are a capable and approachable leader who enjoys bringing people together and creating a supportive, safe and welcoming team environment. You set a positive tone through open communication, respect and collaboration, while keeping safety front of mind in everything the team does. Whether you bring experience leading a small to medium technical team, or you’re stepping into your first leadership role with strong technical capability and emotional intelligence, you genuinely enjoy supporting others to grow through coaching, mentoring and shared learning. Technically confident and willing to roll up your sleeves when needed, you approach challenges with a practical and thoughtful mindset, always looking for better ways of working that don’t compromise safety or compliance. As a cultural champion, you value teamwork, connection and balance, helping create an environment where people feel engaged, supported and proud of the work they do.

About Operations and Maintenance

Operations and Maintenance (O&M) is where our essential services come to life. Our teams operate and maintain water and wastewater infrastructure right across South Australia, ensuring we continue to deliver services that communities rely on every day.

Working in O&M means hands-on, meaningful work running treatment plants, maintaining critical assets, responding to faults, and solving real-world problems. Depending on the role, this may include rostered hours, on-call responsibilities, or weekend work.

Be part of a safety-first, people-focused team where experience is valued, learning is supported, and everyone knows their work matters today and for the future of South Australia.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Leading and managing the team to achieve operational and maintenance goals.
  • Driving safety leadership and compliance with WHS standards.
  • Delivering high-quality maintenance and capital project outcomes within budget, scope, and timelines.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership by being responsible for the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others (e.g., fit for work, compliance with safe systems).
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promoting innovation and continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
  • Ensuring all works are executed in accordance with technical, regulation, compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Role modelling corporate values and drive continuous improvement, culture change and greater staff engagement in the team.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Qualifications in electrical or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing maintenance execution teams.
  • Clear understanding of work strategy, planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance and capital delivery works.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams with focus on organisational constructive culture development.
  • Extensive experience in the management of safety and risk.
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives, leading and communicating changes.
  • Experience in water/wastewater operation, maintenance and project delivery.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license. (Essential)
