About the Job
As a Water Industry Trainee, you’ll begin your career in the water industry by learning how to operate and maintain essential water and wastewater networks across Port Pirie, Crystal Brook, and surrounding regions.
Working alongside experienced team members, you’ll support repairs, fault responses, and maintenance tasks that help keep vital infrastructure running smoothly. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in the field, while learning the ropes of civil works and customer interaction.
No two days are the same, offering plenty of variety and the chance to develop practical skills while making a meaningful contribution to your community.

About Operations and Maintenance
The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
Your Responsibilities in This Role
As a Water Industry Trainee, you’ll contribute to the delivery of reliable water and wastewater services by supporting a wide range of field-based tasks while undertaking a Certificate III in Water Operations. You'll learn on the job, working alongside experienced team members as you:

Your Success in This Role Will Come From:
Standard hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, with on-call and overtime responsibilities (overtime rates apply).
