About the Role

This role supports the Production and Treatment Team in the day to day plant operations and ensuring the water quality guidelines are achieved. Embrace a career path that’s as rewarding as it is exciting and enjoy the stunning surroundings of the Fleurieu Peninsula and Adelaide Hills.

While the role will be primarily based at Summit near Mt Barker, as part of the Southern team, there will be opportunities to work across six water treatment plants on the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island to ensure operational coverage. This means you’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of sites, with some intrastate travel as required. Participation in an on‑call roster and occasional out‑of‑hours work will also form part of this position.

About the Person

We are seeking for someone who consistently demonstrates commitment, attention to detail, a strong technical mindset with a customer focus and outstanding personal integrity and values.  If you don’t meet every requirement but feel excited about this role, we encourage you to apply, training will be provided — your strengths and potential may be exactly what we’re looking for.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Weekly plant inspections and data gathering / input
  • Routine plant maintenance (repair/service/calibration of plant equipment)
  • Responding to plant / equipment failures
  • The ordering and restocking of chemicals and other plant consumables
  • The monitoring of plant performance and optimisation of water treatment processes within set parameters / guidelines
  • Conduct daily operations in accordance with documented quality assured system procedures.
  • Input into development/improvement of quality system procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively to ensure team goals are achieved.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Ability to work under limited direction
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Be a team player and have a positive attitude
  • Have high attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • White Card
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Experience interacting with computer-based SCADA systems (desirable)
