About the job  

Join SA Water as a 12-month Business Administration Trainee and start your career in a supportive, purpose-driven organisation. Based at SA Water House in Victoria Square, within the Operations & Maintenance Planning team, this hands‑on role will support the day-to-day running of essential services. You’ll learn and assist with planning and scheduling work for field crews using SA Water systems and platforms, while following safety, quality and compliance standards at all times. You’ll provide general administration support, work closely with team members and stakeholders, and contribute positively to achieving team goals and meeting timeframes. Alongside your practical, on-the-job learning, you’ll be supported to complete a Certificate III in Business, with one day per month dedicated to attending structured training at an offsite location, helping you build valuable skills for your future career.

About Operations and Maintenance

The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

  • Ensure all relevant project, work tasks or activities are completed to the required standard and timeframe.
  • Perform day to day tasks as required and directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Achieve minimum competency requirements and standards of relevant off the job training program at the registered training organisation.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Collaborate effectively to ensure team goals are achieved by providing input into decision making and problem solving.
  • Ensure all relevant project, work tasks or activities are completed to the required standard and timeframe.
  • Perform day to day tasks as required and directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Achieve minimum competency requirements and standards of relevant off the job training program at Tafe or other registered training organisation.
