About the job  

As the Business Support Coordinator, you will be responsible for running and coordinating the day-to-day administrative duties for Senior Managers within the Science and Strategy Business Unit, with a priority focus on supporting the Senior Manager Environment and Energy. You will play a critical role in prioritising incoming communications and correspondence, diary management and proactively anticipate needs and solve problems before they arise. This is a full-time ongoing hybrid opportunity, based in the heart of Adelaide, CBD. Part-time arrangements can be taken into consideration.

We are seeking a highly organised professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional internal customer service to their stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who’s experienced in providing high-level administrative support to Senior Managers and Leaders and can seamlessly build trust and rapport within multi-discipline environments. Our ideal candidate holds themselves to a high standard both within themselves and in the quality of their work. They’re reliable, approachable and ultimately trustworthy, as they always safeguard confidential information.  

About Science and Strategy

The Science and Strategy group employs scientific approaches to address present and upcoming challenges. They execute a strategy driven by customer preferences to elevate the SA Water brand and position us for future success.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Efficiently manage emails and coordinate diaries for Senior Managers in the Science and Strategy team, ensuring seamless scheduling, timely responses and effective organisation of meetings.
  • Be an effective ‘liaison’ for all internal/external stakeholders for the Science and Strategy team, including management of correspondence and responding to enquiries.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Business Support Officer and provide back up for this role during periods of absence or high workloads, ensuring business support is always available for the Science and Strategy Group.
  • Coordinate travel management, training sessions, conference attendance and room bookings for Senior Managers, ensuring smooth logistics and efficient planning and communication.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, agendas, and spreadsheets for Senior Managers with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support the smooth onboarding and induction process for new starters, ensuring a positive and welcoming introduction to SA Water. 
  • Act as a cultural custodian and actively contribute to creating a culture of driving customer outcomes.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders to support effective collaboration and communication.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with exceptional knowledge of Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and develop and implement appropriate solutions using initiative, autonomy, authority, and judgement.
