SA Water is seeking a Security Operations Centre Specialist is a role that will provide a 12x5 service to the business, with 24/7 on-call support, and is responsible for the monitoring, early detection, and response to cyber events to ensure that SA Water’s digital technologies can function in a more reliable, secure and resilient manner.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in the definition of digital safety responsibilities and incorporating them in IT security assurance processes.
• Take responsibility for effective operation of security monitoring systems and facilities, such as SIEM and the vulnerability management toolset, as the service custodian.
• Maintain a current understanding of emerging security threats by monitoring a range of industry information sources and networks and integrating available threat feeds into the security management environment.
• Co-ordinate and perform authorised penetration tests, technical vulnerability assessments and security audits and report outcomes to the IT Security Lead and system custodians.
• Review and lead the management and configuration of security devices within SA Water.  These include SIEM, EDR, VPN, Mail gateway and vulnerability tools.
• Manage incidents within the cyber security incident process – this will include the use of internal incident management playbooks and the participation of other IT team members.
• Gather threat intelligence and actively assess threats on an ongoing basis. 

Your success in this role will come from:

• Extensive experience (5+ years) working in an Information Technology Role in a large corporation.
• Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities.
• Vulnerability management and monitoring experience in a previous role with the ability to engage teams and manage hazard/vulnerability to completion.  
• Demonstrated experience in incident response protocols.
• The ability to work with other teams including project, Application Support, and the business.
• Experience in using a SIEM system.
• Experience in using and EDR system.
• Tertiary Education or Industry Certification in a Cyber related field.
