About the job

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Condition Monitoring Officer in to join our Tactical, Integrity and Reliability team based in Mt Barker.

This role is responsible for delivering specialist condition monitoring tactics, including fault diagnostics, failure prognostics, and predictive maintenance. Using smart technologies, you will play a key role in ensuring optimal maintenance outcomes and improving system reliability and performance.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Execute condition monitoring programs for both linear and non-linear assets in line with reliability and tactical engineering requirements.
  • Undertake vibration data collection and advanced waveform and spectrum analysis, transient analysis, thermography, alignment, dynamic balancing, Operating Deflection Shape (ODS), and Tribology.
  • Perform pump performance testing where required.
  • Utilise innovative condition monitoring technologies, such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), for condition assessment of above-ground pipelines, solar and energy systems, buildings, and water storage facilities.
  • Provide proactive diagnostic services for fault finding and defect elimination of infrastructure assets.
  • Assist Reliability Engineers and Maintenance Execution teams with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting.
  • Ensure condition monitoring activities align with SA Water’s standards, Australian Standards, and relevant ISO and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate work management records and report on condition monitoring data.
  • Support predictive and smart maintenance initiatives by identifying opportunities for new and emerging technologies.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Mechanical or electrical engineering qualification or trade-level qualification.
  • Vibration Analyst Category II certification.
  • Advanced Machinery Diagnostics (including Operating Deflection Shape and Transient Analysis).
  • Infrared Thermography Analyst Level I certification.
  • Strong understanding of Tribology.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with customers and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Remote Pilot License for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is desirable.
