About the Company

SA Water is a modern, government-owned utility serving over 1.8 million South Australians with essential water and sewerage services. With more than 1,700 employees and $14 billion in infrastructure, we’ve been delivering sustainable, innovative water solutions for over 165 years. Our nationally and globally recognised expertise helps us meet customer expectations today while shaping future water services to support healthy communities and thriving economies. SA Water values its people, doing meaningful work, staying authentic, making an impact, and focusing on the future.

About the Role:

In this role, you'll play a key part in transforming operational data into meaningful insights that support performance improvement, compliance reporting, and informed decision-making across the asset operations lifecycle.

Working closely with operational, technical, and business stakeholders, you will develop analytics solutions, support performance reporting, improve data management practices, and help drive continuous improvement across water and wastewater operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain operational performance reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions to support business decision-making.
  • Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support regulatory, environmental, and corporate reporting requirements through accurate and reliable data assessment.
  • Partner with operational teams to improve asset performance, drive operational improvements, and support incident investigations.
  • Implement and promote consistent data management practices, ensuring stakeholders have access to trusted and actionable data.
  • Provide guidance in digital data capture, visualisation tools, and analytics solutions to support data capability across Operations and Maintenance.

About you

You are an analytical thinker who enjoys turning data into actionable insights.

You can with certainty work with stakeholders at all levels, simplify complex information, and communicate findings in a clear and practical way. You are naturally curious, enjoy problem-solving, and are motivated by opportunities to improve performance and drive better outcomes.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with experience analysing complex data sets to support business decisions.
  • Strong capability in data analytics, reporting, visualisation tools, and the development of dashboards and data products.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across diverse teams and business functions.
  • High levels of computer literacy, a continuous improvement mindset, and a passion for using data to drive operational performance and business outcomes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a curious and analytical professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working with large datasets, and influencing business outcomes through data.

If your background includes similar education and transferable skills, we’d love to hear from you!
