About the job  

This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering high‑quality engineering outcomes by providing consistent, value‑for‑money, accurate, and timely technical information across SA Water, while working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

About the Person

You are an experienced engineering professional with strong technical capability and a collaborative approach to multi‑disciplinary project delivery. You bring a structured and safety‑focused mindset, with the ability to lead design activities, coordinate diverse stakeholders, and deliver high‑quality engineering outcomes that provide value for money.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership by prioritising the health, safety and wellbeing of self and others, ensuring fitness for work, and maintaining full compliance with SA Water’s Safety in Design (SID) framework and Engineering Safety Framework.
  • Support and coordinate multi‑disciplinary engineering investigation activities to deliver accurate, timely, and value‑for‑money engineering outcomes aligned with SA Water’s standards and business priorities.
  • Develop and manage delivery plans, ensuring clear milestones, effective coordination, and achievement of agreed schedules and budgets while balancing water quality, WHS, stakeholder, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal Engineering teams, and Business Partners (internal and external stakeholders) to define scopes of work, provide regular progress and cost reporting, and ensure Business Partner needs are met effectively and efficiently.
  • Support the engagement and coordination of Engineering Panel consultants and approved suppliers in accordance with SA Water procurement frameworks and Technical Standard TS0104, ensuring compliant and value‑for‑money outcomes.
  • Support a positive team culture through effective communication, knowledge sharing, and personal development planning, while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, systems, documentation templates, and the adoption of appropriate new technologies.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Degree‑qualified Engineer (Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering design, design review, and the development or review of infrastructure standards
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with the ability to assess and manage technical risk
  • Proven ability to effectively liaise with and coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in producing high‑quality professional reports and clear technical documentation
  • Associate Diploma or postgraduate qualification in Project Management, Business Management (desirable), or equivalent demonstrated experience in coordination or management of multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience reviewing or auditing engineering designs and technical reports prepared by others
