About the job  

The Learning and Development Coordination Team Leader plays a pivotal role in ensuring SA Water’s workforce has the knowledge, skills, and competencies to succeed. Leading a small team of Coordinators, they oversee the scheduling, monitoring, and governance of learning programs across the organisation, ensuring training is delivered efficiently, compliance requirements are met, and learning systems are maintained to the highest standards.

They will champion best practice in training coordination, working closely with leaders, technical experts, and external providers to deliver learning outcomes that align with business needs. Their work will ensure SA Water’s people are set up for success, both now and into the future.

This full-time, max-term opportunity is available for 6 months.

About the Person

The successful candidate will be a highly organised and detail-focused professional who thrives on leading and developing a team. They will have a solid background in learning and development coordination, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain data integrity, and drive process improvements.

Known for their ability to build strong relationships, they will communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from technical specialists to senior leaders. With advanced skills in Microsoft Office and experience in Learning Management Systems, they will bring a solutions-focused mindset and the initiative to identify opportunities for efficiency and consistency in training operations.

About People and Safety

The People and Safety group are focused on ensuring workforce well-being and success through strategies such as talent attraction, diversity, and collaboration, while also prioritising health and safety efforts to prevent harm and promote overall well-being and career development.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Lead and develop a team of Learning and Development Coordinators to deliver high-quality training coordination services.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor training programs, ensuring minimal operational impact and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee and assist with the coordination of logistics for learning programs, including venue bookings, calendar invites, resources, and catering.
  • Monitor and report on training completion, competency requirements, and upcoming expiries to maintain organisational compliance.
  • Drive consistency, governance, and process improvements across training coordination practices and systems.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Strong organisational skills combined with effective communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of learning and development coordination and support.
  • High level of computer literacy. Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with experience using LMS’s.
  • High level of attention to detail combined with a demonstrated ability to use initiative and judgement.
  • Proven ability to effectively work autonomously or in a team as required with demonstrated capability in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.
