About the job  

As Manager, Infrastructure Knowledge, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for transforming data into trusted insights, enabling evidence-based decisions, enhancing asset performance, and supporting long-term infrastructure stewardship across the business.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how infrastructure knowledge is governed, managed, and leveraged at enterprise scale.

About you

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Management Office, you will provide strategic leadership across five specialist functions:

• Spatial Analysis and Reporting
• Asset Performance Reporting and Analytics
• Infrastructure Intelligence Reporting and Analytics
• Asset Data Capture and Maintenance
• Digital Strategy and Digital Asset Lifecycle (DAL)

You will lead a team of highly skilled professionals who deliver critical information services that support operations, capital investment decisions, regulatory reporting, risk management, and asset performance outcomes.

A key aspect of the role is establishing and exercising stewardship of asset information across SA Water, ensuring information is trusted, governed, and used effectively throughout the asset lifecycle.

You will: 

• Develop and deliver the Infrastructure Knowledge roadmap, aligning information, analytics, and digital initiatives with business priorities while driving measurable organisational value.
• Lead the governance of infrastructure information across asset, spatial, performance, and capital portfolio domains, ensuring data standards, quality, compliance, and accountability are embedded across the organisation.
• Oversee reporting and analytics capabilities that provide reliable, transparent, and actionable insights to support asset performance, investment decisions, risk management, and operational excellence.
• Provide strategic leadership of SA Water's spatial and GIS capabilities, enabling effective decision-making through innovative spatial assessment, mapping, and integrated digital solutions.
• Ensure critical asset information remains accurate, current, and fit for purpose by enabling data governance, continuous improvement initiatives, and streamlined information management processes.
• Lead the Digital Asset Lifecycle (DAL) strategy and roadmap, advancing digital maturity through improved asset handover, data automation, configuration management, and lifecycle information management practices.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of specialists while fostering strong relationships across Operations, Engineering, Capital Delivery, Technology, and executive stakeholders to drive adoption, collaboration, and business outcomes.

Your success in this role will come from: 

• Demonstrated experience steering and developing high-performing teams of technical specialists and subject matter experts, fostering collaboration, accountability, and stakeholder-focused service delivery.
• Strong experience implementing data governance, stewardship frameworks, standards, and quality controls within complex asset-intensive environments, ideally aligned to ISO 55000/55001 or similar asset management frameworks.
• A track record of delivering enterprise reporting, analytics, and information management solutions that support strategic decision-making, operational performance, and business improvement.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across Operations, Engineering, Capital Delivery, Technology, Finance, and executive leadership teams.
• Understanding of GIS, spatial enablement, asset information management, and the integration of information across the asset lifecycle and core business systems.
• Demonstrated success leading organisational change and driving adoption of new digital, reporting, data, or information management practices across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience shaping digital initiatives and leveraging emerging technologies to improve business outcomes. Exposure to Digital Asset Lifecycle (DAL), automation, AI-enabled information management, or related digital transformation programs will be highly regarded.
