About the job   

We're looking for a Senior Application Services Specialist to lead a team responsible for a portfolio of critical enterprise applications and technology services that support SA Water's operational and strategic objectives. 

Reporting to the Applications Manager, you'll act as the Service Owner for key platforms, driving service excellence, lifecycle management and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, Technology teams and service providers to ensure applications remain reliable, secure and aligned with business needs. 

Key platforms within the portfolio include enterprise applications, industrial data and analytics platforms, engineering and modelling solutions, energy trading systems, digital technologies such as IoT and smart metering, and SA Water's PI Historian. These technology platforms enable the collection, integration and utilisation of critical business and operational data, supporting informed decision-making, digital transformation, regulatory compliance and the efficient delivery of services across the organisation. 

This is an opportunity to shape the future of application services at SA Water, influencing technology direction, improving service delivery and supporting major initiatives including IT refreshes, application upgrades and modernisation projects. 

About the Person  

You are an experienced technology leader with a strong background in enterprise application management and service ownership. You build trusted relationships, lead through influence and thrive in complex environments where collaboration, accountability and customer focus are critical. Passionate about developing people and improving services, you're focused on delivering technology outcomes that create lasting business value. Experience working with enterprise applications and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow will be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities will include:  

• Leading and developing a team of Application Services Specialists.  

• Acting as Service Owner for a portfolio of critical enterprise applications and services.  

• Managing application lifecycles, service roadmaps and support activities.  

• Driving service improvement, operational maturity and technology outcomes.  

• Managing vendor relationships and service performance.  

• Supporting the successful transition of new and upgraded services into support.  

• Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver business value through technology. 

Your success in this role will come from:  

• Strong experience managing enterprise applications and technology services. 

• Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams.  

• The ability to influence outcomes across business, technology and vendor teams.  

• Experience balancing operational priorities with strategic roadmap delivery.  

• Strong vendor management capability and commercial acumen.  

• A commitment to service excellence, continuous improvement and customer-focused outcomes.
