About the job

The Project Engineer provides essential support to the project team to ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure projects that achieve customer and organisational outcomes. Working closely with Project Managers, the role contributes across all stages of project delivery, supporting planning, scheduling, design management, financial control, safety, quality and compliance requirements.  

The Project Engineer plays a key role in coordinating activities, managing allocated tasks, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required standards.  

About the person

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and detail-focused Project Engineer with experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects in a regulated environment. They bring a solid understanding of project management tools and processes and are comfortable working within established systems and processes.  

With ease, they can manage multiple priorities, they take ownership of allocated tasks and contribute confidently to problem-solving and decision-making. With a proactive approach to safety, compliance and continuous improvement, they work effectively with project teams and contractors to support projects being delivered safely on time and within budget.

In addition, your responsibilities will include

  • Support and/or manage the delivery of projects to achieve objectives as defined in the brief. 
  • Contribute to ensuring planning controls are in place to deliver projects within time constraints. 
  • Contribute to project deliverables meeting applicable standards, specifications and design.
  • Contribute to delivered assets being fit for purpose and meeting quality requirements. 

Your success in this role will come from

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering or a related degree. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver outputs within specified time frames. 
  • Ability to work autonomously, deal with ambiguity and develop sound decision making, to effect successful outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain open and productive relationships.
