About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Operator to join our team. This role plays a key part in the operational control of water treatment facilities, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe drinking water in line with customer expectations.
For the right person, we will provide the training required—so if you’re motivated, safety-focused, and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t have prior water industry experience.
This role is based in Morgan and will require travel to other treatment plants in the Riverland region. If you're passionate about water quality, safety, and teamwork, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
About the Person
You will have the ability to meet deadlines and operational targets whilst working under limited supervision. The position requires strong analytical skills, and you should have the ability to identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures on an ongoing basis.
Ideally, you will have experience in process operations—this could include water or wastewater treatment, food and beverage manufacturing, chemical processing, or other environments where precision and control are critical.
You should be confident using computer systems and demonstrate strong overall computer competency. Experience with SCADA systems is highly desirable.
About Operations and Maintenance
The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

Out of hours work will be required from time to time as is intrastate travel with occasional overnight stays. The participation in the on-call roster will also be required once initial training has been completed.
