About the job

In this role, you will support the Trade Waste and Networks teams by managing day-to-day administrative tasks that keep operations running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include maintaining key trade waste databases, processing authorisations and invoices and, assisting with compliance and customer service requests.

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable effective engagement with team members and customers. You demonstrate a strong ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes. With a proactive mindset and positive attitude, you contribute to fostering a collaborative team environment and support the delivery of trusted, sustainable water services to South Australia.

About Operations & Maintenance

The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Support the operation and maintenance of the grease waste management system.
  • Maintain and update Trade Waste databases including TWES, WasteID, and Ellipse.
  • Process Trade Waste authorisations, invoices, and manage customer accounts accurately.
  • Identify and assist with compliance activities, including supporting basic field compliance tasks and coordinating investigations for potential new Trade Waste customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to Trade Waste enquiries, liaising with Hauled Waste companies, and offering accurate advice on Trade Waste matters.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling of work, primarily for the network monitoring team, to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Deliver general administrative support to the Production and Treatment team, including minute-taking, travel arrangements, purchasing, fleet management, and credit card processing.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Proven experience providing high-quality administrative support, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong customer service focus and the ability to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to quickly learn internal systems and databases.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records, processing invoices, and managing data across multiple platforms.
  • Knowledge of trade waste operations and plumbing support is advantageous.
