About the job:

Due to internal movement, we are seeking a Development Services Officer who will support customer growth by managing customer connection and complex requests for multiple inter-related service applications, administering SA Water frameworks that assist the Development Industry and providing proactive customer engagement through the process.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicate with customers to provide expert & accurate information/responses to customers and relevant stakeholders, within specified timeframes in an empathetic, timely and tailored manner.
  • Analyse customer requests and manage service connection applications through working with customers and internal stakeholders to determine the requirements to facilitate a successful connection.
  • Identify and action non-standard work for estimation of costs and ensure correct fees are passed on to the customer.
  • Review site plans from builders/developers/engineers to ensure all requirements are met for providing servicing in line with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Deliver professional, clear and accurate customer service and advice across all functions undertaken in the Development Services Team.
  • Review own cases to ensure data integrity is maintained, customer requests are seen through to completion and SA Water record keeping standards are upheld.
  • Contribute to the creation of a high performing team with a customer service excellence culture.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Qualifications in Customer Service, Office Administration, Builder/Construction Administration, Land Development, local council, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of exemplary customer service including telephone techniques
  • Ability to interpret water, sewerage and construction design plans and technical requirements including using online mapping/GIS systems
  • Proven success in handling multiple customer applications, tasks, and deadlines in a case management environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
