About the Job

This role provides leadership and technical oversight to a team of ten electrical tradespeople responsible for maintaining and delivering electrical infrastructure across water and wastewater assets. Operating from Berri, the Electrical Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring assets are maintained safely and effectively across the Riverland, the wider Murray–Darling Basin and, when required, other parts of South Australia. The position is accountable for driving performance, upholding regulatory and safety standards, and ensuring works are delivered to meet service and customer expectations.

About Operations and Maintenance 

The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the team to achieve operational and maintenance goals.
  • Driving safety leadership and compliance with WHS standards.
  • Delivering high-quality maintenance and capital project outcomes within budget, scope, and timelines.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership by being responsible for the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others (e.g., fit for work, compliance with safe systems).
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promoting innovation and continuous improvement in maintenance practices.
  • Ensuring all works are executed in accordance with technical, regulation, compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Role modelling corporate values and drive continuous improvement, culture change and greater staff engagement in the team.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Qualifications in electrical or equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing maintenance execution teams.
  • Clear understanding of work strategy, planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance and capital delivery works.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing teams with focus on organisational constructive culture development.
  • Extensive experience in the management of safety and risk.
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives, leading and communicating changes.
  • Experience in water/wastewater operation, maintenance and project delivery.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license. (Essential)
