About the Company

SA Water is a successful, modern water utility wholly owned by the Government of South Australia. We employ more than 1,700 people across a broad range of disciplines who operate more than $14 billion worth of infrastructure to deliver essential water and sewerage services to more than 1.8 million South Australians.

We operate in a geographically and climatically diverse service area, with sites and locations from Ceduna through to Port Augusta, the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, across to the Riverland, down to Mount Gambier, and most places in between.

Our strength and expertise have been shaped by our history. For more than 165 years, South Australians have depended on us to innovate and deliver efficient and sustainable water services. With nationally and internationally recognised industry expertise, we’re focused on understanding and meeting our customers’ expectations.

About the job
Our Port Lincoln team is on the lookout for a driven, hands-on individual with a great attitude and a willingness to learn. You’ll be trained up, supported, and given the opportunity to grow. This isn’t a role where you will be stuck in a workshop all day everyday, you will be travelling to different sites across the Eyre Peninsula to conduct maintenance, repairs, commissioning, modifications and installs on new and old infrastructure. As part of a large, statewide business, this role offers the opportunity to apply your skills to a variety of projects and challenges. Every role here has a real impact on our customers, community, and the environment, and we are looking for the right people to take us further.

Some of the projects you’ll get to work on include:

  • Maintaining our major pumping stations and water / wastewater treatment plants.
  • Respond to breakdowns, undertaking fault finding and repair to return assets to services as soon as possible.
  • Deliver new Capital projects, including switchboard builds and installations.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver maintenance and Capital projects to a high-quality standard.
  • Display a proactive approach to workplace safety and model excellent safety behaviours.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with legislative requirements and SA Water policies and standards.
  • Strong work management and planning skills.
  • Participation in an on-call roster will be required.
  • Work in remote and isolated locations will be required from time to time.
  • Collaborate effectively to ensure team goals are achieved by providing input into decision making and problem solving.
