About the role

This role is responsible for delivering efficient financial processing, maintaining the integrity of financial information, and supporting business units with high‑quality advice and analysis. You’ll lead the month‑end transactional cycle, manage reconciliations, support budgeting activities and contribute to continuous improvement across finance processes. Working closely with the Sustainable Infrastructure Finance team, you’ll help ensure financial accuracy, compliance and strong service outcomes.

About Business Insights and Excellence

The Business Insights and Excellence group drives operational excellence by enabling best business practices, economic pricing, financial management, supply chain management, and Risk Governance & Assurance to support the broader business and partners in delivering reliable, cost-effective, sustainable, and future-focused outcomes.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial services including month‑end processing, general ledger maintenance, journals, accruals and reconciliations.
  • Maintain financial integrity by investigating discrepancies, ensuring compliance with standards and supporting business units to resolve issues.
  • Support budgeting and reporting through preparation of budget packs, management reports and basic financial analysis.
  • Build strong working relationships with Finance teams and business units to provide high‑quality advice and service.
  • Drive continuous improvement by standardising processes and contributing to the Finance Office improvement register.
  • Ensure safety and compliance by adhering to WHS responsibilities and organisational policies.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Experience analysing transactional data and providing recommendations.
  • Strong partnership‑building skills across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or progress toward them.
  • Knowledge of financial systems (Ellipse desirable).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Problem‑solving capability and understanding of costing, governance or infrastructure operations (desirable).
