About the role

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to support and deliver end-to-end Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) services. This role plays a vital part in informing investment decisions, supporting budgeting processes, and ensuring SA Water’s long-term financial sustainability.

As a key adviser, you will provide financial insights, assist with investment proposal reviews, support budget development, and prepare analysis that empowers senior decision-making across the organisation.

About Business Insights and Excellence

The Business Insights and Excellence group drives operational excellence by enabling best business practices, economic pricing, financial management, supply chain management, and Risk Governance & Assurance to support the broader business and partners in delivering reliable, cost-effective, sustainable, and future-focused outcomes.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Assist in reviewing business initiatives and investment proposals, applying best-practice FP&A principles
  • Use financial modelling to assess investment trade-offs and risks
  • Support the annual budgeting process and monitor emerging financial issues
  • Deliver insightful reporting and presentations to inform business strategy
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the FP&A function
  • Collaborate across business groups and maintain effective stakeholder relationships

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Experience in applying FP&A principles within a corporate environment (Desirable)
  • Financial systems experience (e.g. Oracle) (Desirable)
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel modelling capabilities
  • Innovative thinking to support business development initiatives
