About the job

Join our Major Pipeline Civil Maintenance team based in Murray Bridge and be part of a hands-on, dynamic role that takes you beyond the workshop. We’re looking for a motivated and reliable individual who enjoys variety and working outdoors. In this role, you’ll travel to different sites across the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Murraylands, and Coorong regions, supporting the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

About Operations and Maintenance 

The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with shutdowns (planned and reactive) and project tasks like security checks, building inspections, pump checks, and visual assessments.
  • Maintain the Major pipelines that transfer water across our great state.
  • Perform land management tasks, including mowing, weed spraying, whipper snipping, and tree removal.
  • Carry out internal and external maintenance tasks to reduce downtime, boost efficiency, and improve asset reliability.
  • Perform civil operations, including truck driving, excavator & skid steer work.
  • Record all maintenance activities accurately and on time in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to support service delivery.
  • Take part in team meetings and contribute to group discussions.
  • Participate in an on-call roster as required.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Ability to work under limited supervision and in a team environment.
  • Understanding of work health and safety and the ability to manage safety and risk.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills and competent with computer and software applications.
  • Competent with the use and maintenance of static and mobile machinery, hand, and power tools.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a variety of outdoor and sometimes challenging environments.
  • Relevant heavy vehicle license (Desirable)
  • Being available for split shifts during both planned and unplanned shutdowns. (Essential)
