About the job: 

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager Growth Central, Manager Growth Intelligence will lead the development and implementation of a best-practice Growth Intelligence Function that proactively identifies and influences future growth regions.  

About the Person: 

The ideal candidate for the position of Manager Growth Intelligence will be a strategic and analytical leader with a strong commitment to maintaining compliance with organisational and legal standards. They will excel in capturing and managing growth-related data, ensuring it is structured and accessible for strategic use. This individual will have exceptional skills in developing and maintaining a comprehensive growth information glossary and portfolio, providing actionable insights to support demand forecasting and growth strategies. They will be adept at managing growth intelligence databases, implementing data governance protocols, and facilitating the use of data for informed decision-making. As a people leader, they will foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture, providing clear direction and support to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and stakeholder engagement.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Research leading practices in growth intelligence across relevant industries, including water utilities, resources, and retail. 
  • Define and develop an optimal future-state Growth Intelligence Function aligned with SA Water’s strategic objectives 
  • Lead the Growth Intelligence team in researching, establishing, and influencing future growth areas. 
  • Gather intelligence from the development sector and collaborate with government agencies to advise on growth demand sequencing. 
  • Represent SA Water in external forums discussing demand data, advocating for the organisation’s strategic interests. 

Your success in this role will come from:  

  • You will have a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Data Science, Urban Planning, Economics, or Engineering.  
  • Prior experience will include leading a growth intelligence or strategic planning function, ideally within utilities or infrastructure sectors.  
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.  
  • You’re a people person through and through, with excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience working across government, industry, and corporate sectors. 
  • You have proven leadership capability in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that drive business outcomes.
