About the job:

We are seeking a Growth Projects Controls Manager to lead the development and implementation of robust project control frameworks that ensure the successful delivery of major growth projects. This role is pivotal in establishing disciplined, independent project controls with integrated risk, schedule, and cost management practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement and maintain robust program management systems and protocols to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency across all Metro Growth Projects.
  • Manage and guide teams across scheduling, cost management, risk and change management, estimating, governance, and reporting to deliver integrated project controls.
  • Schedule Management and Integration by overseeing the development and maintenance of project schedules, including critical path analysis, interdependency management, and integration of risk, cost, and resource data to support timely delivery.
  • Manage project and program budgets, forecasts, and cash flow alignment with schedules, ensuring compliance with financial and procurement approvals.
  • Lead risk management and change control processes for scope, schedule, and cost, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and integration with corporate systems.
  • Drive governance and reporting practices, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely internal and external reporting from a single source of truth.
  • Team Leadership and Capability Development by building and leading high-performing project controls teams, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining Project Management processes within an integrated environment, including cost, schedule, risk, and change management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management or a related discipline, or significant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and deliver change programs involving multiple stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Strong track record in leading and developing teams, with a focus on fostering a constructive organisational culture.
  • Ability to influence and lead employees to achieve improved customer outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in large-scale transformation projects or similar environments.
