About the job  

As Major Initiatives Program Lead (Program Coordinator) will see you working at the centre of some of our most significant, externally focused initiatives. Supporting the Program Manager, you’ll help shape, coordinate and deliver complex programs, and beyond. From defining scope and managing risks to tracking progress and supporting cross-business collaboration, you’ll play a hands-on role in turning strategy into action. This is a role for someone who enjoys connecting the dots, bringing together insights, stakeholders and structured delivery to ensure major initiatives land successfully and create meaningful outcomes.  

This 12-month opportunity (until April 2027), with full-time hours (37.5) per week. 

About the Person

You’re an experience program or project coordinator who thrives on variety, complexity and influence. You don’t just deliver on tasks, you dig deep. You enjoy researching, analysing information and exploring emerging trends or stakeholder insights to strengthen decision-making.  

Curious by nature, you ask the right questions and use evidence to guide your approach. Highly organised and proactive, you’re confident managing risks, coordinating moving parts and building strong relationships across teams and external partners. Most importantly, you’re motivated by being part of the work that is visible, impactful and future-focused for South Australia.  

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Determine the detailed scope, budget, timeframe and quality of the outputs required to achieve project outcomes 
  • Develop and implement project management plans 
  • Produce communication materials suitable for all project stakeholders, Executive and external stakeholders 
  • Understand external and internal expectations of future state and recommend new ways of working 
  • Manage any external contracts for development and delivery of projects as required
  • Coordinate project meetings and workshops, including set up, and meeting minutes 

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • High degree of flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, positive “can do” attitude, strong customer service and work ethic 
  • Sound governance and project management and/or co-ordination expertise 
  • Ability to influence outcomes and deliverables across diverse stakeholder groups 
  • Project management/Business Management/Economics/Legal and/or or equivalent experience
  • Sound analytical skills and ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems
