We employ more than 1,700 people across a broad range of disciplines who operate more than $14 billion worth of infrastructure to deliver essential water and sewerage services to more than 1.8 million South Australians.

We operate in a geographically and climatically diverse service area, with sites and locations from Ceduna through to Port Augusta, the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, across to the Riverland, down to Mount Gambier, and most places in between.

Our strength and expertise have been shaped by our history. For more than 165 years, South Australians have depended on us to innovate and deliver efficient and sustainable water services. With nationally and internationally recognised industry expertise, we’re focused on understanding and meeting our customers’ expectations.

As well as safely delivering smart and reliable services for our customers of today, we innovate to shape the water solutions of the future that will support thriving economies and healthy communities.

We are driven by our values; we value our people, we do work that matters, we keep it real, we know that our work has impact, and we are future focussed. Staying true to our values ensures that we consistently deliver positive outcomes for all South Australians.

About the job

As a Technology Analyst, you will provide expert analysis, modelling, and advisory support to strengthen SA Water’s enterprise architecture capability. Operating at a specialist level, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of architecture frameworks, standards, and roadmaps that guide how technology supports our strategic and operational goals.

You will play a key role in ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology capabilities, and investment decisions by maintaining high‑quality architecture information, supporting governance processes, and delivering clear insights that enable informed, data‑driven decision‑making. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys structured analysis, values accuracy, and thrives in a collaborative, future‑focused technology environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, review, and quality‑assure architecture documentation, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, frameworks, and templates.
  • Curate and manage technology planning repositories, ensuring data integrity, currency, and effective information organisation.
  • Analyse technology planning information and produce clear, insightful reporting and visualisations to support strategic and operational decision making.
  • Administer and enhance Technology Planning systems (including Alfabet, SharePoint, planner boards, and Aquanet), ensuring they remain reliable, well‑documented, and user‑friendly.
  • Action system access requests and maintain accurate configuration and user‑support documentation.
  • Support the operation of governance bodies such as the Architecture Governance Committee (AGC) and Design Authority (DA), including preparation, coordination, and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and information management practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training and guidance on architecture frameworks, systems, and processes to uplift capability across the organisation.
  • Collaborate closely with Technology Strategy & Architecture and Technology Delivery teams to support effective planning, alignment, and technology delivery

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working within enterprise architecture or technology planning functions in large, complex organisations.
  • Strong self‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver high‑quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capability, with the ability to interpret complex information and apply conceptual thinking.
  • Highly effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, advise, and build strong working relationships across all levels.
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience in corporate reporting, performance metrics, and tools such as Power BI (desirable).
  • Experience in utilities, government, or regulated industries (desirable).
