About the Company

SA Water is a successful, modern water utility wholly owned by the Government of South Australia. We employ more than 1,700 people across a broad range of disciplines who operate more than $14 billion worth of infrastructure to deliver essential water and sewerage services to more than 1.8 million South Australians.

We operate in a geographically and climatically diverse service area, with sites and locations from Ceduna through to Port Augusta, the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, across to the Riverland, down to Mount Gambier, and most places in between.

Our strength and expertise have been shaped by our history. For more than 165 years, South Australians have depended on us to innovate and deliver efficient and sustainable water services. With nationally and internationally recognised industry expertise, we’re focused on understanding and meeting our customers’ expectations.

As well as safely delivering smart and reliable services for our customers of today, we innovate to shape the water solutions of the future that will support thriving economies and healthy communities.

We are driven by our values; we value our people, we do work that matters, we keep it real, we know that our work has impact and we are future focussed. Staying true to our values ensures that we consistently deliver positive outcomes for all South Australians.

About the job

Partnering closely with the IMO Senior Manager, you’ll lead key responsive and strategic initiatives that support the management of the project lifecycle across our Sustainable Infrastructure teams. This is a hands-on, high‑influence role where your expertise in problem solving, engagement, investigating, change, process optimisation, and strategy execution directly supports the success of our capital program and helps shape SA Water’s future.

About the Person

You’re a strategic thinker and a practical doer. Someone who can see the big picture but also roll up their sleeves to make improvements happen. You enjoy working collaboratively, coaching others, and turning complexity into clarity. Above all, you’re driven by creating meaningful and lasting change.

Additional Key Responsibilities are:

  • Deliver bespoke improvement initiatives end‑to‑end, including opportunity analysis, scoping, solution design, and implementation.
  • Develop strategic documentation, PowerPoints, business plans and presentations
  • Coordinate activity across the IMO as required by the IMO Senior Manager
  • Work with Senior Managers to shape and deliver Infrastructure Management Office strategies that improve Capital Program effectiveness.
  • Develop and deliver change plans, assess impacts, embed change, and provide clear reporting and insights to leadership.
  • Act as a central contact for leaders and staff, build strong relationships, support decision‑making, and foster a values‑driven, customer‑centric culture.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive consultancy or industry experience in continual/continuous improvement, change, or transformation within utilities, services, or heavy industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of methodologies such as PROSCI, Lean, HCD, Agile, Six Sigma, PMBOK, and/or Prince2.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops, training, and large stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
