SA Water is a successful, modern water utility wholly owned by the Government of South Australia. About the job
This role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment and Retention Plan, driving reconciliation outcomes and fostering positive experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates and employees across the business. You will lead the development and implementation of key initiatives, providing both strategic and practical support to strengthen recruitment, retention, engagement, and professional development outcomes.
You will provide leadership to the Kauwi Miyurna Employee Network Group, collaborate with business areas to identify training and development opportunities, and manage programs that empower and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.

With a consultative and supportive approach, you are committed to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment outcomes and reducing retention gaps through mentoring, coaching, and empowerment. You bring relevant experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, demonstrating cultural awareness, integrity, and respect in all interactions.
You are skilled in building strong relationships and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders on sensitive and complex matters. Highly organised and proactive, you can manage competing priorities while contributing fresh ideas and initiatives.
About People and Safety
The People and Safety group are focused on ensuring workforce well-being and success through strategies such as talent attraction, diversity, and collaboration, while also prioritising health and safety efforts to prevent harm and promote overall well-being and career development.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
Partner across the business to determine Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander training, development and employment needs and opportunities
Develop, maintain and review internal programs offered to support our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
Provide leadership to support the Kauwi Miyurna employee network group for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees
Your success in this role will come from:
Relevant experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Demonstrated experience in implementing workforce programs and initiatives designed to support the employment, development and engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
Ability to manage competing priorities and take initiative to bring new ideas and opportunities into the workplace.
Proven ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders on sensitive and complex issues.
Proven ability to act with integrity on sensitive organisational and personal matters.
High level of listening, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
