About the Company

SA Water is a successful, modern water utility wholly owned by the Government of South Australia. We employ more than 1,700 people across a broad range of disciplines who operate more than $14 billion worth of infrastructure to deliver essential water and sewerage services to more than 1.8 million South Australians.

We operate in a geographically and climatically diverse service area, with sites and locations from Ceduna through to Port Augusta, the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands, across to the Riverland, down to Mount Gambier, and most places in between.

Our strength and expertise have been shaped by our history. For more than 165 years, South Australians have depended on us to innovate and deliver efficient and sustainable water services. With nationally and internationally recognised industry expertise, we’re focused on understanding and meeting our customers’ expectations.

As well as safely delivering smart and reliable services for our customers of today, we innovate to shape the water solutions of the future that will support thriving economies and healthy communities.

About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Board Legal Support Officer to provide confidential and professional administrative support across our Board Secretariat, Legal, and Insurance teams. This role plays a key part in enabling these functions to operate efficiently and effectively, supporting everything from meeting coordination and document management to legal logistics and procurement processes. You’ll work closely with senior leaders, Board directors, and external stakeholders, contributing to the smooth running of governance and legal operations at SA Water.

About you

You are a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll bring strong communication skills, a high level of integrity, and a natural ability to juggle competing priorities. You’re approachable, collaborative, and enjoy building positive relationships with people at all levels. You may have experience in legal or governance settings, but more importantly, you’re curious, adaptable, and eager to learn. If you are tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting high-performing teams, we encourage you to apply.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Organising meetings, travel arrangements, onboarding activities, and procurement for Board directors
  • Coordinating logistics for workshops, seminars, and conferences, including venue setup, catering, and equipment
  • Supporting the preparation and distribution of Board and sub-committee papers, agendas, minutes, and calendars
  • Assisting with follow-ups on Board and sub-committee decisions and actions
  • Providing administrative and logistical support to the Legal team, including document preparation, service coordination, and invoice processing
  • Supporting the Insurance team with supplier setup, claims tracking, and day-to-day operations
  • Ensuring records and documents are stored and retrieved in line with SA Water’s compliance and audit requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to simplify and improve systems and processes across areas you support

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships, influence outcomes, and engage in authentic conversations
  • A high level of integrity and discretion, with the ability to manage confidential information responsibly
  • A strong sense of accountability and motivation to deliver high-quality work independently
  • Confidence working under pressure, managing shifting priorities, and making sound decisions with limited direction
  • Advanced digital literacy, including the ability to identify opportunities for automation and to simplify processes using software and internet tools
  • A working knowledge of corporate or government policies, protocols, and procedures, or a willingness to learn and adapt quickly
