Behind this essential service are people who care. From engineering and science to construction, digital, operations and customer experience, every role plays a part. We bring our authentic selves to work, driven by purpose, supporting one another to deliver work that truly matters.

About the job

We are seeking an experienced Construction Technical Manager to support the delivery of new and upgraded water and wastewater infrastructure across South Australia. About the Person

You bring strong leadership, sound judgement, and a practical approach to problem solving, with the ability to balance project delivery requirements while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

You have extensive experience delivering or supporting major infrastructure projects. Ideally, within an electrical discipline that enhances your ability to support construction, commissioning and completions across our major programs.

Working in this team means shaping long‑term solutions, from designing and upgrading assets to embedding sustainability and resilience into major capital programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Applying your electrical expertise to guide construction, commissioning and completions, strengthening SA Water’s internal capability in a high‑demand program environment
  • Resolving construction challenges and supporting project managers, contractors and technical specialists
  • Promoting innovation, efficiency and environmental best practice across major capital programs
  • Supporting contract management and ensuring safety, quality, time and cost outcomes

  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, WHS, environmental practices and quality assurance
  • Technical understanding of water, wastewater and recycled water infrastructure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Competence in digital tools including project scheduling, analytics (e.g. Power BI) and mobile field applications
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement when resolving urgent construction or commissioning issues
