Join our team as a Coordinator Barrages and take on the exciting challenge of overseeing the operation and maintenance of the iconic barrages at Goolwa, Mundoo, Boundary Creek, Ewe Island, and Tauwitcherie.

About Operations and Maintenance
Our team operates and maintains the barrages, conducting operational control activities for a secure water supply within the Lower Lakes and the River Murray. The team is also responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.
You will:
• Lead, mentor, and support your team to work collaboratively and achieve operational goals.
• Provide exceptional customer service and take personal responsibility for customer satisfaction.
• Maintain compliance by implementing and following corporate health and safety procedures and guidelines.
• Regularly review budgets and implement cost-saving measures to meet business targets.
• Operate and maintain barrage structures to a high standard, including monitoring, reporting, and managing daily flows and water levels to achieve targeted outcomes.
• Lead a team of five, including a Team Leader, and foster a culture of accountability, development, and success.
Your success in this role will come from:
• Proven ability to effectively develop, motivate, and lead a team – Essential
• Understanding of river systems and the operation of barrages, locks, and environmental structures – Desirable
• Proficiency with modern computerised and reporting systems – Essential
• Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate integrity in decision-making – Essential
• Experience developing and implementing work programs – Essential
• Demonstrated ability to manage expenditure within budget – Essential
• Coxswain Certificate and/or Boat Licence – Desirable
