About the job  

We are seeking a Cyber Security Operations Centre Specialist to join our Cyber Security and Resilience team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in protecting the systems and services that help deliver trusted water services across South Australia. The role focuses on monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to cyber threats across both IT and OT environments.

Working within our Security Operations Centre, you will be exposed to a broad range of cyber security activities including security monitoring, incident response, threat hunting, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and continuous security improvement. The role provides the opportunity to work with leading technologies whilst partnering with a highly capable team that is passionate about protecting SA Water's critical infrastructure.

This ongoing, full-time role requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Baseline AGSVA Security Clearance.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

• Monitor, investigate and respond to cyber security alerts and incidents across SA Water’s technology environments.
• Conduct threat hunting activities and proactively identify potential cyber risks and security gaps.
• Manage and support vulnerability management activities, including remediation coordination with technical teams.
• Configure, manage, and optimise security technologies including SIEM, EDR, mail security and other security platforms.
• Partner with internal teams and external stakeholder to improve SA Water’s overall cyber resilience.

Your success in this role will come from: 

• Experience working in an Information Technology role in a large corporation.
• Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities.
• Vulnerability management and monitoring experience in a previous role with the ability to engage teams and manage hazard/vulnerability to completion.
• Demonstrated experience in incident response protocols is desirable.
