About the job  

The Development Service Officer – Major Development Services is key to ensuring the smooth and accurate handling of Development Applications and Preliminary Inquiries. As part of a high-performing team, the role provides vital administrative support and delivers prompt, professional customer service. With a strong focus on safety, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction, the Development Service officer helps foster a collaborative culture that champions service excellence.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

• Provide business administration and processing services for development applications.
• Respond to phone and written inquiries with professionalism and clarity.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and resolve issues promptly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team meetings.

About you

You are a customer-focused professional with demonstrated experience in business administration and service delivery. You are a confident communicator with excellent telephone techniques and a strong grasp of data-based computer systems. With a proactive attitude and a collaborative mindset, you thrive in team environment and are committed to continuous improvement. A background in water and wastewater design, knowledge of relevant legislation, and post-secondary studies in customer service or administration are highly regarded, along with a genuine passion for delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced development setting.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Proven experience in business administration and customer service.
• Strong telephone communication skills.
• Confidence using data-based computer systems.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to service excellence.
• Post-secondary studies in customer service or business administration (Desirable)
• Understanding of water/wastewater design and relevant legislation (Desirable)
• White Card (Construction Induction) (Desirable)
