About the job  

As the Health and Safety Delivery Planner, you will support the implementation of safety deliverables and routines that align with our Health & Safety Delivery Plan and help embed best-practice safety standards across the organisation. With a strong understanding of risk and an ability to translate complex information for operational leaders, you will help ensure our safety approach is practical, forward-thinking, and effective.

You will be responsible for planning and reporting routines, supporting safety investigations, enabling continuous improvement, and ensuring the team’s systems and processes run efficiently. Whether it’s driving collaborative problem-solving or using up-to-date tools and technology to inform decision-making, your work will contribute directly to safer outcomes for our people and our communities.

About the Person

We are seeking an organised and autonomous professional who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. They will bring strong planning and time management skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, and confidence in navigating systems and technology. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, they will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to support safety initiatives and influence positive outcomes. A strong understanding of operational risk, and the ability to clearly articulate these to business leaders, will be key. Adaptable and forward-thinking, they will use data and insights to help shape smarter safety routines and processes. ICAM training and experience in project coordination and systems of work will be highly regarded.

About People and Safety

The People and Safety group are focused on ensuring workforce well-being and success through strategies such as talent attraction, diversity, and collaboration, while also prioritising health and safety efforts to prevent harm and promote overall well-being and career development.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Developing and coordinating H&S planning routines, reporting and risk oversight.
  • Supporting business leaders with safety initiatives aligned to the Delivery Plan.
  • Facilitating safety communication, audit schedules, and project improvements.
  • Enabling high-performing team culture through strong systems and collaboration.
  • Contributing to safety investigations and embedding learnings across the business.
  • Promoting operational excellence through process simplification and improvement.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience.
  • Time management, data analysis and communication skills.
  • Strong people skills and business partnering/influencing skills.
  • Can-do attitude and problem solving skills.  
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and understanding of health and hygiene science and practices, ISO knowledge, process safety and lean process improvement is desirable.
