About the job
This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in workplace safety across regional South Australia. We’re recruiting three Operations & Maintenance Health and Safety Coordinators based in or around Mt Gambier, Berri, and Crystal Brook, each playing a critical role in supporting frontline operations and embedding effective safety practices on the ground.
Working closely with operational leaders and Health & Safety Business Partners, this hands-on role offers variety, influence, and purpose. You’ll coach teams, support safety systems and programs, and help build a proactive safety culture that empowers people and reduces risk.
About the Person
The ideal candidate is a practical, people-focused safety professional who thrives in operational environments. They take a hands-on approach to health and safety and are confident working alongside field teams to embed safer ways of working.
They have a sound understanding of WHS systems and legislation and can translate this into meaningful actions on the ground. With strong communication and coaching skills, they build trusted relationships, support frontline leaders, and foster a culture where safety is owned and valued.
They are proactive, curious, and improvement-minded, comfortable conducting audits, contributing to investigations, and identifying ways to enhance systems and processes. Above all, they lead with integrity, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting others to work safely and effectively.
About People and Safety
The People and Safety group are focused on ensuring workforce well-being and success through strategies such as talent attraction, diversity, and collaboration, while also prioritising health and safety efforts to prevent harm and promote overall well-being and career development.
