About the Job

Join SA Water as a Maintenance Technical Officer and play a key role in the delivery of mechanical, electrical, and fabrication work packages across regional engineering maintenance workshops. This full-time, ongoing position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and maintenance supervisors to support the delivery of Capital upgrades across water and wastewater infrastructure across South Australia.

About Operations and Maintenance 

The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Your responsibilities for this opportunity 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Coordinate and deliver Capital work packages in partnership with engineering, operation & maintenance and project teams.
  • Provide technical input and oversight on asset maintenance and upgrade activities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, particularly PMs and operation & maintenance teams.
  • Travel regularly to regional sites to support project implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Trade background in electrical, mechanical, or fabrication disciplines.
  • Understanding of water infrastructure and associated assets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage across diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across locations.
  • Current driver’s licence is essential.
