SA Water values its people, doing meaningful work, staying authentic, making an impact, and focusing on the future.

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced professional to lead infrastructure investment prioritisation and asset planning within our Integrated Planning team. In this role, you’ll develop and apply strategic tools to optimise capital allocation across short, medium, and long-term horizons, manage and enhance the Integrated Planning Operating System (IPOS) to improve value stream efficiency and customer alignment, and oversee asset lifecycle planning for Operational Services Infrastructure, including WHS, SCADA, accommodation, and security assets to ensure long-term sustainability and performance. If you're passionate about driving smarter infrastructure decisions and creating lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performance culture focused on value delivery, safety, continuous improvement, and leadership development through coaching, accountability, and team engagement.
  • Drive enterprise-wide collaboration and change leadership by fostering strategic internal and external relationships that enhance integration and alignment.
  • Develop and apply prioritisation frameworks to optimise capital deployment across investment scenarios, aligned with strategic objectives and supported by asset planning tools.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to support governance, decision-making, and alignment with corporate milestones and the Asset Owner Model.
  • Strengthen upstream integration and customer focus by enhancing connections with information suppliers and defining Voice of Customer metrics.
  • Support and improve planning systems such as the Integrated Planning Operating System (IPOS), ensuring efficiency, workload balance, and team wellbeing.
  • Lead strategic asset management and investment planning by developing evidence-based business cases, managing asset programs, and maintaining comprehensive Asset Management Plans that balance performance, cost, and risk.

About the person

The ideal candidate is a proven leader with deep expertise in asset management, infrastructure planning, and investment prioritisation. They hold tertiary qualifications in STEM, with post-grad studies in asset management, business administration, or quantitative analysis. Skilled in Power BI and methodologies such as Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma, they excel in data analysis and strategic decision-making. Strong communication, leadership in complex environments, and a commitment to safety and team development are essential. Technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and civil assets, along with experience in modern risk and asset investment planning tools, is required.
