About the role

The Performance Reporting & Analytics Specialist is a key role within SA Water’s Finance team, in this role you will develop and deliver business performance reports, analytics solutions, and capabilities to support the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives. This role aims to drive business performance improvements through effective process measurement, performance enhancement, and capability development across various functions. You will also be responsible for producing and interpreting reports and dashboards using Business Intelligence tools, such as Power BI.

The Business Insights and Excellence group drives operational excellence by enabling best business practices, economic pricing, financial management, supply chain management, and Risk Governance & Assurance to support the broader business and partners in delivering reliable, cost-effective, sustainable, and future-focused outcomes.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.

You will:

  • Lead efforts to identify and quantify benefits for business initiatives by measuring process performance.
  • Deliver insightful performance reports to senior leadership and the Board, focusing on achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Coach and mentor stakeholders in the performance management process and collaborate with Learning and Development to identify current and future skills and capabilities.
  • Foster strong relationships across teams to drive a customer-centred culture and develop opportunities for performance improvements.
  • Manage project plans, track cross-functional projects, and ensure successful delivery.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Strong communication & Interpersonal Skills with an ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to meet business goals.
  • Experience in performance reporting, solving complex problems with analytical thinking.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Engineering, or Business/Commerce, preferably with a quantitative focus.
  • Hands-on experience in managing performance reporting and driving improvements in a commercial environment.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects using project management methodologies.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft business and data applications (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of project and change management tools (Desirable)
