About the job
We are seeking a Scientist to join our Science and Strategy group within the Water Expertise business unit on a 12‑month contract. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will move between laboratory experiments, pilot plant trials, field work, and desk‑based analysis to support projects that ensure South Australia’s water is safe, sustainable, and fit for purpose. You will contribute to meaningful investigations, share insights across SA Water and the wider industry, and help drive continuous improvement in water treatment processes.

The Science and Strategy group employs scientific approaches to address present and upcoming challenges. They execute a strategy driven by customer preferences to elevate the SA Water brand and position us for future success.

Your success in this role will come from:
You will bring a degree in Science with a relevant major and laboratory experience, along with strong skills in designing and implementing research experiments. Confident in analysing and communicating data through business software, reports, and presentations, you will also have knowledge of water treatment chemistry and processes, with wastewater expertise an advantage. Most importantly, you’ll demonstrate initiative, innovative thinking, and a genuine passion for scientific research and solving practical problems.
