Join Our Growth Group!

With the establishment of our new Growth group, we have exciting and unique opportunities. These roles have been created to make a step change, supporting the South Australian Government’s growth ambitions and proactively preparing for the scale and complexities of anticipated future demands. This group will provide a single point of accountability for growth and dedicated oversight, focus and responsibility.

About the Role

In this key leadership position, you will drive the development and delivery of agile, future-focused strategies that enable integrated water infrastructure to support both SA Water’s objectives and the State’s growth. You will champion innovation through technology and data, lead balanced risk-based decision-making, and optimise infrastructure investments across technical, financial, and customer outcomes. The role also plays a critical part in long-term asset planning, setting engineering standards, and engaging with key stakeholders across government, industry and community.

This is a 3-year max-term opportunity.

About the Person

We are looking for a strategic, resilient leader with strong experience in infrastructure planning within asset-intensive environments. You are confident navigating complexity, driving transformation, and delivering customer-focused, sustainable outcomes. Commercially astute and analytically sharp, you lead high-performing teams with clarity and purpose, embrace innovation and technology, and influence effectively across government, industry and community.

Our leadership commitment

Our leadership behaviours are grounded in our values and brought to life through a shared commitment to building a strong, future-focused culture. As a leadership team, we are shaping this culture together.

We will

  • Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration and action by encouraging bold ideas, celebrating continuous improvement and integrating timely progress into everything we do.
  • Make decisions efficiently and with purpose to deliver meaningful impact, embracing progress over perfection.
  • Champion transformation at all levels by breaking down barriers, balancing risk with opportunity, driving change readiness and enabling our team to shape the future.
  • Lead with accountability, authenticity and integrity through being vulnerable, actively listening, embracing feedback and acting with transparency.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, asset management, operations or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a complex infrastructure or asset-intensive business.
  • Strong leadership credentials with the ability to inspire and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Depth of experience in infrastructure asset management, systems planning, and commercial decision-making.
  • Demonstrated capability in strategic negotiation, innovation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience leading organisational transformation and embedding new ways of working.
