About the job  

SA Water is seeking a Senior Maximo Application Services Specialist to lead the management of key enterprise platforms and ensure they are fit-for-purpose, secure, reliable and delivering business value.

In this role, you will manage a suite of business applications and act as Service Owner for major systems including SA Water’s Planning, Scheduling and Dispatching solution (Salesforce Field Services) and Asset Management System (Maximo). You will work with a wide range of stakeholders, guide the transition of new technologies into operations, oversee service providers, and drive continual service improvement across the technology lifecycle.

You will be the senior functional and technical SME for your platforms, providing leadership, direction and expert problem solving while ensuring strong vendor performance, robust governance and alignment to ITIL practices.

About the Person

The ideal candidate will be an experienced applications specialist with strong knowledge of ITIL-aligned service delivery, proven capability managing enterprise systems, and the confidence to act as a senior subject matter expert for key operational platforms. They will bring sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across senior leaders, customers and vendors, and a collaborative mindset that supports effective delivery.

In addition, your responsibilities will include: 

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day. 

You will: 

  • Manage a suite of business applications, platforms and services.
  • Act as Service Owner for key operational technology systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive business outcomes.
  • Deliver, transition and embed new technologies into the operational environment.
  • Manage services using standard processes such as ITIL and ensure security adherence.
  • Lead vendor performance aligned to contractual SLAs.
  • Identify bottlenecks, single points of failure and opportunities for service uplift.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Degree in the field of computer science, engineering or management or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of managing and providing applications management support and development using industry standard processes, i.e. ITIL within a corporate environment.
  • Expert analytical, conceptual thinking and problem solving skills within a technology environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to establish constructive and positive working/customer relationships.
  • Experience in influencing and leading technology teams.
