About the Job

This role provides leadership and technical oversight to a multidisciplinary maintenance team responsible for delivering maintenance and capital works across SA Water's water and wastewater assets. Based in Berri, the Supervisor Maintenance Execution leads fabrication and pipeline maintenance crews, ensuring infrastructure is maintained safely, reliably and efficiently across the Riverland, wider Murray–Darling Basin and, when required, other parts of South Australia.

The role is accountable for leading maintenance delivery activities, driving team performance, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring all maintenance and capital works are executed in accordance with regulatory, environmental, quality and customer requirements. Through effective planning, stakeholder engagement and people leadership, the position plays a critical role in improving asset reliability, operational performance and service delivery outcomes.

About Operations and Maintenance 

The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensures we effectively deliver safe, reliable and efficient maintenance outcomes across South Australia every day.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing fabrication and pipeline maintenance teams to achieve operational, maintenance and capital delivery objectives.
  • Driving safety leadership and ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, water quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Building a constructive, high-performing team culture focused on accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance and capital works programs.
  • Delivering maintenance and capital project outcomes within budget, scope, quality and agreed timeframes.
  • Providing technical and operational input into maintenance strategies, work planning and prioritisation activities.
  • Leading teams to execute preventative, corrective and reliability-focused maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring maintenance and asset data is accurately captured within work management systems.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support operational outcomes.
  • Driving innovation, continuous improvement and efficient work practices across maintenance delivery activities.
  • Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with technical standards, compliance obligations and customer requirements.
  • Role modelling SA Water's values and leading positive culture and organisational change initiatives.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Qualifications in engineering, civil trade, utilities infrastructure, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing maintenance teams across field-based operational environments.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, including trades-based and infrastructure maintenance crews.
  • Clear understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, work management and capital delivery processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams while fostering a constructive and inclusive culture.
  • Extensive experience in safety leadership, risk management and compliance within operational environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability.
  • Knowledge of and practical experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and leading change.
  • Experience in water, wastewater, utilities, infrastructure, local government, mining, construction or related industries will be highly regarded.
  • Current and valid driver's licence (essential).
