About the Company

At SA Water, our work sustains life. Every day, we deliver safe, reliable water and wastewater services to more than 1.8 million South Australians, supporting healthy communities across our state.

Behind this essential service are people who care. From engineering and science to construction, digital, operations and customer experience, every role plays a part. We bring our authentic selves to work, driven by purpose, supporting one another to deliver work that truly matters.

About the job

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project & Program Scheduler to join SA Water's Infrastructure Management Office within our Sustainable Infrastructure group, Portfolio Performance and Controls function. Reporting to the Portfolio Schedule Lead, you will support the successful delivery of capital projects and programs by developing and maintaining integrated schedules, providing forecasting and performance insights, and delivering reporting that supports effective project controls and decision-making.

Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Contractors and key stakeholders, you will oversee schedule performance, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.

About the Person

You are a highly organised and analytical scheduling professional with experience delivering project controls within complex project environments. Able to build strong stakeholder relationships and confidently influence outcomes, you leverage your scheduling expertise and data-driven insights to identify risks, opportunities and solutions that support successful project delivery across multiple projects and competing priorities.

About Sustainable Infrastructure

The Sustainable Infrastructure business group plans, designs and delivers the critical water and wastewater infrastructure that supports communities across South Australia, now and into the future.

Working in this team means shaping long‑term solutions, from designing and upgrading assets to embedding sustainability and resilience into major capital programs. You’ll be part of a collaborative, future‑focused team doing work that builds and maintains a reliable and sustainable water system for generations to come.

In addition, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Establish schedule baselines and monitor project performance against approved plans.
  • Prepare forecasts, completion projections and schedule performance reporting to support decision-making.
  • Perform critical path, float and what-if analysis to identify project risks, opportunities and delivery impacts.
  • Track key milestones, dependencies and contractual deliverables across projects and programs.
  • Support the development of mitigation and recovery plans to address scheduling risks and delays.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to review progress and drive successful delivery.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across scheduling, reporting and project controls.

Your success in this role will come from:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and program scheduling within capital, infrastructure, engineering or construction environments.
  • Experience using project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, forecasting and schedule performance analysis.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to influence outcomes and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
