Behind this essential service are people who care. From engineering and science to construction, digital, operations and customer experience, every role plays a part. We bring our authentic selves to work, driven by purpose, supporting one another to deliver work that truly matters.

About the job

Located near Lake Cullulleraine, approximately 60 km from Mildura, this role offers a rare opportunity to live and work on the banks of the Murray River. With subsidised on-site accommodation provided, you'll enjoy a unique riverside lifestyle while helping operate and maintain critical infrastructure that supports water delivery, river navigation and environmental outcomes across South Australia.

This hands-on role combines operations, maintenance, environmental monitoring and customer service. You'll support lock operations, maintain critical infrastructure across multiple sites, collect operational data and provide safe public access to lock facilities while working with river users, community members, contractors and government agencies.

Employees have access to a flexible working framework, including the ability to accrue up to 30 minutes of flexitime per day, allowing additional flexibility to manage personal and family responsibilities. Accrued flexitime can be used in accordance with team and operational requirements.

In addition to annual leave entitlements, SA Water offers:

  • 2 days of Wellbeing Leave per year to support employee health and wellbeing.
  • 1 Travel Day per year, providing additional time to enhance personal travel experiences.
  • Flexible working arrangements where operationally feasible.
  • A supportive and family-friendly workplace culture.
  • A strong focus on employee wellbeing, inclusion, and work-life balance.

At SA Water, we understand that flexibility is essential to helping our people thrive both professionally and personally, and we are committed to creating an environment where employees can do their best work while maintaining balance in their lives.

Experience operating vehicles, plant, equipment and machinery will be highly regarded.
